Foundation Portfolio - Progress Checklist

So far you should have:

ü  Created a blog (regularly updated) that has a structure, titles and labels
ü  Researched camerawork and put photos and video on your blog
ü  Created ideas and planned for a preliminary film, including allocating roles
ü  Filmed the preliminary task and uploaded it to the blog.
ü  Received feedback on your preliminary task and put that feedback on the blog
ü  Evaluated the preliminary task using the questions on the media studies blog
ü  Created initial ideas for the main task
ü  Pitched your favourite idea for the main task
ü  Received feedback on your pitch and put the feedback onto the blog
ü  Made adjustments to your idea based on the feedback
ü  Analysed the opening to a film in class
ü  Added your analysis to the blog
ü  Analysed three similar films (to your idea) in terms of camerawork, editing (including titles), mise-en-scene and sound with screenshots
ü  Add your analysis to the blog
ü  Show your three film openings to the rest of the class and ask them targeted questions about them (see my blog for examples of questions)
ü  Allocated roles e.g. director, cameraman, actor, editor, props man etc.
ü  Created a profile of the typical person who would go to see your film (e.g. age, gender, interests, social class/background, ethnicity, education, job etc.) – you could present this to the rest of the class with one of the group acting the part of this ‘character’
